What defines you as a woman? Who is it that determines whether or not you are emotionally, mentally, spiritually or physically capable of doing? Are you as celebrated as you deserve? At what point in time, have you been thoroughly and sincerely thanked for just being outstanding at what you do? Where has life, as a woman, taken you?

The above reference, defined by Merriam-Webster Dictionary, summarizes the meaning of the term “Woman,” but I think it falls short of a few. We are lovers to people who have no positive intention on loving us back without something in it for them.
I’ve been known to go on a vacation or two – but within the confinement of my own home. No fancy resort or splendid cruise. Just literally separating myself from the world of virtual reality, and cleansing myself from other unworldly behaviors including people. Sometimes, you have to remove yourself from the circles of those you may label family and friends, in order to reserve your true peace at mind. There are a few people in your circle now that I am sure you’ve been dealing with for quite some time, maybe years, and instead of chopping them off, you put up with their bullshit. And here’s the kicker:
The event I attended on January 21, 2017 located at La Madeleine in Sandy Springs, Georgia, “The Liar’s Den: Let’s Chat,” was something much-needed not just for myself as a woman, but women in general in order to bridge together this invisible gap so commonly placed between us. This was set as a preview of the book, which would shed some light together as a group on questions we all at some point seemed to wonder when it came to men. No, this wasn’t a male’bashing event or a get-together to talk about their flaws, but rather gain some form of group therapy that could eventually help us within our own relationships whether as a partner or even with young sons.

How can you love someone else or even expect others to love you if you don’t love yourself?
I remember at one point, telling someone you love them to the point you’d die for them was the thing. Those days have come and gone. If you love me that much, you can’t possibly love yourself. I may sound a little cold but hear me out.
Have you ever had someone in your life who, regardless of how good of a man or woman you are, you were just never good enough for them to “lock down,” but just right for them to lay with? Whenever you did go out in public together, it was never somewhere local when you would run into friends of theirs or even yours. Everything was always so “low-key,” but they made it their business to pop-up anytime another took an interest in you. Any other time when they would see you out, they kept it cordial, however when a man or woman stood within your personal space, they made it their business to intervene? (more…)
This was the first time that I had ever attended this event and to be honest with you, after researching online, promotional videos and photos – I had an idea of what to expect but you know what they say, “expect the unexpected.” (more…)

So when do you say enough is enough? At what point in life do you decide that being taken for granted has run its last lap and you are ready to reclaim ownership? Abuse comes in many different ways. (more…)
As I was having lunch today, it came to me. So many people rather sit back and be content with the 40 hours of labor and paychecks full of deductions, instead of really going out there and claiming what truly belongs to them. Everyone has a dream but when you wake up, is it simply a captured vision you see unconsciously?
